I Love To Travel Within 1-10 Hour Driving Distance Of Charlotte, NC USA. Outside Of That I Normally Lose The Wandering Spirit. Mainly Because That Means I Will Have To Get On A Dreaded Airplane.

Being Confined In A Expensive, Flying Tin Can Is Not Exactly My Idea Of Part Of A Dream Vacation. However, I Want To Make A Awesome 5 Day Vacation Trip Before The End Of 2015. With That In Mind I Will Go On A Flying Tin Can.

Do You Have Any Grand Ideas For A 5 Day Vacation In The USA?

I Do Not Want To Go To A Souvenir Only Tourist Trap.  The Place Has To Have That “Wow You Have Arrived” feeling to it. I Am Thinking Along The Lines Of A Natural Park Or A Cruise In The Caribbean.

In The Past I Went To The Sequoia And Kings Canyon National Park. The Tin Can Ride Was Scary… But The Views Of The Parks Were Worth It.

In Keeping With The National Park Theme I Was Thinking About Going To Yellowstone Or The Grand Canyon. Keep In Mind My Plan Is To Only Have 3-4 Fun Exploring Days. The Other To Days Are For The Dreaded Tin Can Ride.

Now For The Big Questions……. Has Anyone Ever Been To Any Of Those National Parks?Which Park Is The Most Interesting To See In 3-4 days?

What Is The Best Time Of Year To Go? I Want To Avoid Going To Either Park If There Is Snow On The Ground. I Am Not Afraid Of Snow….. It Is Just The Thought Of Planes In The Snow And Ice That Makes Me Want To Choose A Different Time. Would You Go In The Beginning Of October? Or Do you think that Late May Is A Good Time To Go? Those Are The Best Times For Me To Get Off Work.

When Is The Best Time To See The Waterfalls At The Parks? Is There Any Place Near Those Parks That You Would Recommend Seeing As Well?

The Vacation Plan Is Not Set In Stone. I Could Add A Day Or Two Depending On What There Is To See. The Only Thing Set In Stone Is I Just Prefer To Stay In The USA. By Staying In The USA I Will Not Have To Worry About Currency Exchanges Or Language Barriers. If I traveled Outside The USA I Would Want To Go On A Cruise Or Guided Tour. (I Have Never Been On A Cruise Before.)

What Place Would You Recommend Other Than Yellowstone Or The Grand Canyon?

Thank You For The Advice. I Really Appreciate All Of The Helpful Input You Can Give Me.
